What was your first “ah-ha!” moment before going independent in the Salesforce ecosystem?
I started in the Salesforce ecosystem as an independent consultant helping a high-end furniture company with a global Sales Cloud implementation. From there, I worked at Appirio full-time for nearly four years before jumping back into independent consulting. Working hands-on with customers is where I thrive, and I love the variety of fun, interesting, and smart people I get to work with along the way.
How has 10K shaped your career? Helped you advance your skills?
10K projects have me constantly learning, especially through first-hand exposure to the solutions we’re building. For example, I’ve seen Nick Hamm, a very talented Salesforce expert, help a customer envision a complex capacity management solution. Those moments when I can witness someone else’s knowledge – how they approach and consider a problem – is where I grow and learn the most.
Another bonus is that 10K is a cool group of people with unique interests and passions. They genuinely care about every 10K Expert pursuing the things that matter most to them.
Why do you like being part of the 10K Community?
There are a few benefits to being independent that I really value. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping organizations implement solutions that make a difference. It’s also so fun to be in the mix and work alongside experts who help drive me to keep learning and growing. Another benefit is I get to choose exactly what work/life balance works best for me. As a single mom, this proved to be incredibly important for my priorities and family.
