What was your first “ah-ha!” moment before going independent in the Salesforce ecosystem?

At the beginning of my Salesforce career, I worked for a consulting firm that was hyper-focused on scale. It was an exciting and challenging phase of my career, and the firm eventually sold – a major success!

However, toward the end of that process, I realized I had moved further and further away from the work that got me excited: solution-building and problem-solving. I knew working as an independent consultant would allow me to provide a more immediate impact for many different customers and verticals. 

What are some of your favorite parts about being an independent Salesforce expert? 

There is never a dull moment because of the variety of project work and challenges I get to take on. I’m always learning. Getting brought on as a consultant means I’m the end-to-end project lead, and it’s what I thrive on. It’s rewarding to push myself and be accountable for every client’s success. 

I also love picking my schedule to roll up and down as needed. This allows me to be strategic when growing my consulting and ISV business or jumping on projects.
