What was your first “ah-ha!” moment before going independent in the Salesforce ecosystem?
I have been a Salesforce Consultant for the past 10 years. Over the years, I was afraid to take the leap into being an independent consultant. I would dip my toe in the water for a little bit, and then I would find myself back to consulting with a firm. I tried forcing myself to fit into a model that I thought was the “right way” to grow my career, and instead felt like I was an imposter and quite frankly, not cut out for consulting. I almost gave up. However, once I realized the pattern I was continually putting myself in, I made the choice to go out on my own (for real this time) and break the cycle. I have finally found what works for me and now I run a thriving business the way I want to.
What are some of your favorite parts about being an independent Salesforce expert?
I love the freedom and flexibility that comes with being an independent consultant. I essentially get to pick and choose every aspect of my business – from working on projects that matter to me, to the people I get to work with, to when I want to work and where I want to work from. It’s all up to me and I love that I get to make those choices for myself.
How does working with 10K let you focus on the work you love?
I like to have variety in the types of work I do and the roles that I serve. The 10K team understands my skill set and need for diversity, and they do a great job of pairing me up with the right projects where I can excel and deliver quality work.
