What was your first “ah-ha!” moment before going independent in the Salesforce ecosystem?
I was working for a partner at the time, and they had just been acquired. One month later COVID hit, as did layoffs not long after. It was the first time in my life I felt like I was not in the driver’s seat for my career. I decided that how I work with clients, the support I give, how to gain knowledge, etc would not change regardless of who I worked for. I realized I had built this network over the years and I should give it a shot.
How does working with 10K let you focus on the work you love?
I can spend more time providing my clients with real value. I’ve also found more time to learn new things instead of constantly chasing leads and sourcing my own projects.
How does working with 10K help you build your business?
This is my second “go-around” as an independent contractor. During my first attempt, I didn’t have a structured, consistent balance of independent contractor work and direct client work. For my second act, partnering with 10K has provided the missing balance, giving me more time to provide value, learn, and have a healthier work/life balance.
How has 10K shaped your career or advanced your skills?
10K has helped me develop a clearer picture of where I want to take my Salesforce career over the next 10+ years. Their support gives me the flexibility to plan, set goals, and work toward those goals with consistency rather than chasing things that provide little value.
Why do you like being part of the 10K Community?
I enjoy the sense of community and the abundant learning opportunities provided on 10K Connect. It feels like a mutually beneficial partnership, and I’m not just a number to fill a role.
